In conjunction with The Justice Dialogue virtual conference “Caring for One Another During Current Immigration Enforcement: Know Your Rights for Yourself and Your Community” held February 5, 2025, ABHMS has compiled a list of resources to provide assistance to immigrants and their families in the United States who are facing unprecedented challenges to their well-being under the current presidential administration.
This list is not exhaustive—we will be adding to it over the coming days and weeks.
- Immigration Enforcement Action: What Churches Need to Know is an informative blog post from the general counsel of United Church of Christ discussing congregational response to the immigration policies of the new presidential administration.
- American Immigration Council strives to strengthen the United States by shaping immigration policies and practices through innovative programs, cutting-edge research, and strategic legal and advocacy efforts grounded in evidence, compassion, justice, and fairness.
- Church World Service is a faith-based organization transforming communities around the globe through just and sustainable responses to hunger, poverty, displacement and disaster.
- The Evangelical Immigration Table exists to encourage distinctly biblical thinking about issues of immigration, providing discipleship resources focused on immigration from a biblical and missional perspective as well as advocating for public policies consistent with biblical values.
- Know Your Rights Cards is an online resource for downloadable “know your rights” cards that vulnerable individual can carry and easily refer when confronted by ICE agents (available in a variety of languages).
- Immigration Advocates Network provides access to a national director of nonprofit organizations that deliver free or low-cost immigration legal services, searchable by state, county, or detention facility.
- National Immigration Law Center: Fact Sheet on Trump’s Recission of Protected Areas Policy is a resource that highlights the rights of churches if ICE comes to their door under the presidential administration’s new policies.
- We Have Rights outlines an empowerment campaign for immigrants and their allies to prepare for possible encounters with ICE.
