VALLEY FORGE, PA (ABNS 07/15/2026)—American Baptist Home Mission Societies (ABHMS) seeks nominations for the Edwin T. Dahlberg Peace Award to be announced at the 2027 American Baptist Churches USA (ABCUSA) Biennial Mission Summit to be held June 10-13, 2027, in Rochester, New York.
The Edwin T. Dahlberg Peace Award is given to an individual or church for outstanding work for peace and justice. The awardee should demonstrate courageous leadership as well as a compassionate Christian witness for and with individuals marginalized in the United States and around the world.

He was instrumental in founding the Fellowship of Reconciliation and the Baptist Peace Fellowship. In 1964, Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was the first award recipient. Subsequent honorees include Harold E. Stassen, William Sloan Coffin, Jimmy Carter, Gustavo Parajon, Ken Sehested, Marian Wright Edelman, Mark Hatfield, John Lewis, LeDayne McLeese Polaski, and, most recently, A. Roy Medley.
