Judson Press colleagues Price and Tull honored among other ‘Community Champions Who Care’ at 10th Anniversary Trailblazers & Unsung SheRoes Awards Gala

VALLEY FORGE, PA (10/30/2025)—Rev. Cheryl L. Price, Ph.D. publisher of Judson Press, and Gale Tull, marketing associate for the historic publishing ministry of American Baptist Home Mission Societies (ABHMS), were among an elite group of women of faith and service celebrated October 17 at the 10th Anniversary Trailblazers & Unsung SheRoes Awards Gala in the Bronx, New York.Hosted by Ambassador Rev. Dr. Suzan Johnson Cook, affectionately known as Ambassador Sujay, and produced in collaboration with The R.E.A.L. BWIM and Women On the Worldstage (W.O.W.) Inc., the black-tie event honored “Community Champions Who Care,” 30 women whose leadership and compassion have influenced ministries and communities across the nation. The program featured messages of affirmation and support from faith and civic leaders, including Congressman Ritchie Torres of New York and Pastor Brian D. Scott of Union Baptist Church in Harlem. They described Ambassador Cook as a servant leader who tirelessly works to help women in ministry succeed. Their tributes highlighted the far-reaching impact of Cook’s 45 years of visionary leadership and intrepid service, along with the strong networks of clergy and public servants who continue to promote her vision of faith-based empowerment.Price and Tull were recognized as “Trailblazers,” joining esteemed figures from ministry, education, healthcare, and public service. This recognition was especially meaningful for ABHMS, as Judson Press has long shared Ambassador Cook’s commitment to empowering women in ministry. Cook, a Judson Press author, continues to advocate for this mission through her leadership and public witness. As the first Black woman to serve as publisher of Judson Press, Price is a trailblazer herself, marking a milestone in the press’s 200-year legacy of amplifying diverse voices in Christian publishing. “Being recognized with so many talented and awe-inspiring women was a blessing,” she said, describing the honor as a humble affirmation of her calling to serve through publishing ministry. She thanked Ambassador Cook and the teams at ABHMS and Judson Press for their unwavering support.Tull expressed similar appreciation, describing the recognition as both an honor and motivation. “Knowing that the work I do is seen and appreciated means a lot,” she said. She thanked Ambassador Cook, ABHMS Executive Director Dr. Jeffrey Haggray, her colleagues, and Judson Press authors “for believing in me and the work I do.”At the helm of Judson Press, Price leads a team dedicated to equipping Christian leaders and encouraging diverse voices in ministry. “What excites me,” she has said of her work, “are the various channels to share God’s Word through different voices and lenses.”Tull, who has served in marketing and outreach for more than a decade, plays a vital role in connecting readers, churches, and seminaries to Judson Press resources that inspire faith formation and strengthen ministry. Her creativity and diligence have helped expand the press’s national reach and elevate its identity as a distinctive voice within Christian publishing.ABHMS Executive Director Rev. Dr. Jeffrey Haggray commended both honorees. “Cheryl Price and Gale Tull exemplify the faith-centered leadership and commitment to diverse voices that define ABHMS and Judson Press,” he said. “Their dedication to equipping Christ-centered disciples and transforming communities is a blessing to congregations nationwide.”The Trailblazers & Unsung SheRoes Awards Gala continues to spotlight women whose vision, compassion, and perseverance strengthen the fabric of communities everywhere, which aligns with the deeply held values of BHMS and its mission partners across the United States and Puerto Rico. For more information about ABHMS, visit us online at abhms.org.American Baptist Home Mission Societies partners with American Baptists to promote Christian faith, cultivate Christ-centered leaders and disciples, and bring healing and transformation to communities across the United States and Puerto Rico.
