As an individual who loves working with computers, engaging with people, and following the Lord’s word, Mary-Anne Walker fits the bill as American Baptist Home Mission Societies’ Information Technology (IT) support assistant.
She seeks to help manage current and new IT systems, assist users in improving daily job-related tasks, make technology a more efficient and effective tool, ensure staff access to IT-related training, and to remain abreast of new technology in today’s ever-changing environment.
She enjoys seeing the results of helping people.
“I love putting ideas together in a way that is common sense and interesting, and having others learn from it,” she notes.
Walker strives, she says, to “give it her all” at work and to treat co-workers will respect and honesty, as instructed in Colossians 3:23-24 (“Whatever your task, put yourselves into it, as done for the Lord”) and Galatians 6:10 (“Let us work for the good of all”).
