Early-bird discount deadline extended for ABHMS’ Space for Grace 2018 urban retreat
VALLEY FORGE, PA (ABNS 8/16/18)—The deadline to register for American Baptist Home Mission Societies’ (ABHMS) “Space for Grace: Thy Will Be Done” at the early-bird discount rate of $229 has been extended to Sept. 7.
The discount rate for this highly anticipated urban retreat Nov. 14-16 in Philadelphia includes three evening receptions, two lunches and two breakfasts. In addition, it offers access to world-class speakers and cutting-edge workshops; time for reflection, refreshment and renewal; and the opportunity to engage in compelling conversation with faith leaders, community service leaders and social justice advocates about tackling mission; developing leaders and disciples; and transforming churches and communities.
More than two dozen intellectually engaging experiences are set to deliver culturally competent learnings applicable to your ministry arena. Topics include “America’s Changing Religious Landscape and the Future of Faith,” “Preparing Congregations for Ministries of Advocacy and Social Action,” “Rizpah’s Children: Radical Responses to Childhood Poverty” and “Trauma, Resilience and Racism: Thoughts on Ways of Moving Forward.”
The 2½-day national event at Loews Hotel in the heart of a top-10 largest U.S. city will feature these inspirational keynote speakers: the Rev. Dr. Amy Butler, senior minister, The Riverside Church, New York City; Dr. Molly T. Marshall, president and professor of Theology and Spiritual Formation, Central Baptist Theological Seminary, Shawnee, Kan.; the Rev. Dr. Corey D.B.
