American Baptist Home Mission Societies launches ‘The Passionary Fund’
VALLEY FORGE, PA (ABNS 4/29/19)—American Baptist Home Mission Societies (ABHMS) has launched “The Passionary Fund,” its new annual giving fund that offers opportunities to support the ministry of the historic mission society that nurtures strong Christian leaders, develops inspiring discipleship resources and supports transformational programs that bring healing to churches and communities across the United States and Puerto Rico.
Named for passionaries—individuals inspired through vision and compassion to change the world for the better—the new fund is expected to provide more than $1 million in operating revenue each year.
Passionaries are ordinary people doing extraordinary things that change lives in the name of Jesus Christ. ABHMS passionaries have served on mission trips in New Orleans and Puerto Rico, helping hurricane victims recover from devastating disasters. They have shared their passion for mission at ABHMS-sponsored meetings and conferences, where presenters and participants share cutting-edge dialogue about ministry in the 21st century. Now The Passionary Fund provides another avenue for putting passion for mission and ministry into action.
The new fund features opportunities to give at various levels, ranging from “Peacemaker” and “Passionary” to “Visionary” and “Founder.” While the annual fund campaign is underway now, contributions to The Passionary Fund can be made throughout the year. All gifts, no matter the amount, make a difference in countless lives touched by the ministries of American Baptist Home Mission Societies.
American Baptist Home Mission Societies partners with American Baptists to promote Christian faith, cultivate Christ-centered leaders and disciples, and bring healing and transformation to communities across the United States and Puerto Rico.
American Baptist Churches USA is one of the most diverse Christian denominations today, with approximately 5,000 congregations comprised of 1.3 million members, across the United States and Puerto Rico, all engaged in God’s mission around the world.
