Tondolayo T. Duncan
Tondolayo T. Duncan says that she views her position as executive assistant to the deputy executive director in American Baptist Home Mission Societies (ABHMS)’ Finance department as an opportunity to play a vital role in connecting with partners, board members, staff and vendors to provide exemplary customer service that promotes enduring relationships and mutual benefit and understanding. Exemplary customer service is a sure path to sharing the ABHMS story.
“I am excited about the overall ABHMS strategic plan of action to connect, cultivate, change—particularly as we align our plan with socially responsible investment principles,” she says. “In doing so, we impact change in our communities, which has a ripple effect throughout the United States and Puerto Rico.”
Duncan says she is grateful to work for an organization that not only strives to transform communities and lives but to transform its own personnel through staff-development opportunities.
“I have learned that you cannot transform someone else’s life without transforming your own,” she says. “When we are obedient to God’s word, we put ministry in action, and we can then be a witness to growth in others and ourselves.”
