Publisher discusses recent enhancements to Judson Press
VALLEY FORGE, PA (ABNS 10/31/17)—American Baptists can learn firsthand about exciting enhancements to Judson Press, the publishing ministry of American Baptist Home Mission Societies (ABHMS), via a video featuring publisher Laura Alden.
In the video, viewable on ABHMS’ website, abhms.org, Alden discusses recent changes that bring the historic 193-year-old publishing ministry into the digital age, including a new user-friendly website, publications available in e-reader format, updated business software systems, improved financial reporting capabilities and new warehousing.
“We made a three- to five-year plan, and it all culminated in the last year or so, as we made all of these changes at one time,” says Alden, noting that Judson Press and ABHMS leadership and staff approached the process with prayerful discernment. “All of these changes are to better serve our customers.”
Judson Press is known for a wide variety of uplifting and informative Christian resources for clergy and laity, including The Secret Place, a quarterly publication featuring daily devotions; Bible studies and Sunday school curricula for all ages, such as Judson Bible Journeys for Adults; church and Sunday school supplies; and books on topics that range from discipleship, Bible-based finances, stewardship, Baptist identity and beliefs, and social justice-related issues to spiritual formation, church leadership, preaching and pastoral ministry, Christian living and diverse congregations.
