Biden-Harris Administration provides special health care insurance enrollment period until May 15
VALLEY FORGE, PA (ABNS 2/19/21)—Individuals and families without health care coverage can obtain affordable, accessible health care insurance by signing up at www.healthcare.gov during a special enrollment period that runs from now until May 15. The coverage is provided by the Biden-Harris Administration. This information is offered as a public service announcement by American Baptist Home Mission Societies.
In the meantime, the Biden-Harris Administration continues to fight for the American Rescue Plan. The plan follows a two-pronged approach to the health care crisis by:
- increasing federal subsidies to ensure that comprehensive health care coverage costs no more than 8.5 percent of one’s income and
- ramping up the national vaccination program to provide vaccinations to as many people as possible.
According to a Biden-Harris statement, “The administration believes that every American deserves the peace of mind that comes with affordable quality health care, especially in the midst of a pandemic that has taken the lives of over 480,000, infected millions of others and left millions more unemployed.”
If you are already covered by health care insurance, you are urged to tell uninsured friends and family that they can sign up for health care insurance at www.healthcare.gov from now until May 15.
