ABHMS offers Lenten workshop, other free resources
VALLEY FORGE, PA (ABNS 3/15/18)—“Spiritual Disciplines Made Easy” (Workshops for Church Life and Leadership, #C902)—a great resource for use during the Lenten season—is now available for free download on American Baptist Home Mission Societies’ (ABHMS) website, abhms.org.
Written by noted Judson Press author Kathleen Deyer-Bolduc, this four-session, interactive, hands-on workshop introduces spiritual disciplines—prayer, centering prayer (Christian meditation), Lectio Divina (“divine reading”), and gratitude—that can bring about personal transformation when practiced consistently. Great for weekly meetings or a several-day retreat, each session can be facilitated in a two-hour timeframe.
Deyer-Bolduc elaborates on both centering prayer and Lectio Divina in “How Centering Prayer Saved My Life,” an article she authored for the March edition of ABHMS’ The Christian Citizen online.
Co-owner with her husband of Cloudland, a contemplative retreat center near Oxford, Ohio, Deyer-Bolduc is author of several books, including “The Spiritual Art of Raising Children with Disabilities” (Judson Press, 2014) and “Autism & Alleluias” (Judson Press, 2010).
In addition, two other new Workshops for Church Life and Leadership were recently made available on ABHMS’ website: “Gracious Parenting” (#603) and “God, Animals and Us” (#C905).
