ABHMS names ecclesiastical endorser for chaplains, pastoral counselors
VALLEY FORGE, PA (12/15/16)—American Baptist Home Mission Societies (ABHMS) is pleased to announce that the Rev. Kristina Moeller has been named ecclesiastical endorser for chaplains, pastoral counselors and those serving in specialized ministerial settings.
“It is my privilege to serve as the ecclesiastical endorser for our denominational family,” says Moeller. “Our chaplains and pastoral counselors are extremely talented and are an integral part of the strategic plan and direction for ABHMS in 2017.”
A retired U.S. Army chaplain with the rank of colonel, Moeller has been serving ABHMS as associate endorser and liaison for military chaplains.
Moeller was the first-ever female chaplain to hold the following positions in the US Army: command chaplain, U.S. Army Reserve, Fort Bragg, N.C., 2011-2015; director, Reserve Component Integration, Office of the Chief of Chaplains, Pentagon, 2008-2011; and chaplain recruiter, Chicago, 2003-2006. In addition, she was deputy command chaplain, Army Medical Command, Pinellas Park, Fla., 2006-2008, and a transportation officer, 1986-1995. Before becoming a full-time chaplain, she had been a hospital staff chaplain for seven years.
Moeller earned a Master of Divinity at Northern Baptist Theological Seminary, Lombard, Ill.; a Master of Strategic Studies at Army War College, Carlisle (Pa.) Barracks; and a Bachelor of Science at Ball State University, Muncie, Ind. In addition, she has garnered four Clinical Pastoral Education units and Lean Six Sigma Certification.
