ABHMS’ ministrElife announces partnership with Samuel DeWitt Proctor Conference
VALLEY FORGE, PA (ABNS 1/7/21)—American Baptist Home Mission Societies’ (ABHMS) networking platform for ministry professionals—ministrElife—announces its partnership with The Samuel DeWitt Proctor Conference Inc. The partnership delivers a platform for like-minded individuals, passionate about engaging issues affecting the African-American community, to connect, collaborate and mobilize leaders in churches, academies and communities through education, advocacy and activism.
As part of this partnership, the Samuel DeWitt Proctor Conference Inc.’s 2021 Clergy & Lay Leadership Virtual Conference—“Holy Rage, Holy Hope: Radical Reimagination for Transforming Communities”—will be hosted on the ministrElife platform Monday, Feb. 22−Saturday, Feb. 27, 2021. Proctor’s online community, the Mbongi Network, is also hosted by ministrElife, accessed through the platform’s “ENGAGE” section. Mbongi, a word in the Kikongo language, means “learning place.” Leveraging ministrElife’s robust digital tools, members of Proctor’s Mbongi Network will have the opportunity to share resources and dialogue as the conference unfolds, as well as before and after the event in continuing conversation.
“American Baptist Home Mission Societies and Judson Press have partnered with the Proctor Conference since its beginning, and we are pleased to expand our partnership now with the ministrElife online platform as a means of extending opportunities for learning, professional growth and networking in the virtual world,” says Dr. Jeffrey Haggray, executive director of ABHMS and Judson Press.
“Praise God!” says the Rev. Dr. Iva E. Carruthers, general secretary, Samuel E. Dewitt Proctor Conference Inc. “I am so excited that the Proctor Conference is now a special partner of American Baptist Home Mission Societies’ ministrElife. We are expanding the Mbongi Network on the ministrElife platform, which will give all of us even greater opportunity to do ministry.”
Members of ministrElife passionate about issues affecting the African-American community are encouraged to join the Mbongi Network on ministrElife. To join, click here.
