2026 America for Christ Offering invites American Baptists to invest in hope and healing
VALLEY FORGE, PA (ABNS 01/15/2026)—American Baptist Home Mission Societies (ABHMS) has launched the 2026 America for Christ (AFC) Offering, an annual mission campaign that supports Christ-centered ministries serving communities across the United States and Puerto Rico.
AFC serves as a crucial funding source for ABHMS initiatives, such as leadership development, discipleship and faith formation, community transformation, and ministries that address poverty, racism, immigration, and other urgent needs.
Inspired by Matthew 13:34–35, the offering theme is “The Wisdom and Power of Storytelling,” which calls American Baptists to consider how faith is formed and sustained across generations and how shared witness strengthens communities.
“Storytelling is woven into the heart of the Christian faith,” said Dr. Jeffrey Haggray, executive director of ABHMS. “Jesus taught through parables that invited people into deeper understanding and shared meaning. Through the America for Christ Offering, we help ensure that stories of faith, resilience, and hope are carried forward through ministries that embody the Gospel in real and lasting ways.”
Haggray explained that generosity through AFC allows American Baptists to participate in a shared witness across diverse communities. “When we give to AFC, we strengthen bonds between generations, invest in faithful leaders, and help build bridges that carry God’s truth into the future,” he said.
ABHMS encourages churches to incorporate the offering into worship and congregational life through prayer, testimony, and opportunities for members of all ages to reflect on God’s work in their lives and communities.
To support congregational participation, ABHMS has developed a variety of print and digital resources, including a leadership guide, worship materials, activities for children and youth, and bulletin inserts with ministry stories that illustrate the impact of AFC-supported work. Printed materials will soon arrive at individual churches. In the meantime, these resources are available as digital downloads now on ABHMS’ AFC 2026 website.
American Baptists are encouraged to generously donate to the 2026 America for Christ Offering to support ministries that bring healing, hope, and transformation to communities nationwide and in Puerto Rico. Contributions can be made through local churches or directly online.
