ABHMS former board president honored by church
VALLEY FORGE, PA (ABNS 1/29/21)—The Rev. Dr. Clifford I. Johnson, immediate past president of ABHMS’ Board of Directors and pastor of Shiloh Baptist Church, Wilmington, Del., will be honored by the church renaming its recently renovated Nehemiah Gateway Community Development Corp. for him.
A service celebrating the renaming will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, January 31. It will be available for viewing via the church’s Facebook page or on YouTube.
Johnson was the longest-serving president of ABHMS’ board of directors. He served for 11 years, having joined the board in 2004 and continuing through ABHMS’ leadership transition from Dr. Aidsand F. Wright-Riggins III to Dr. Jeffrey Haggray in 2015. Johnson was elected board president in 2010.
Nehemiah Gateway Community Development Corp. is a nonprofit organization, incorporated in 2000 as a project of Shiloh. The organization, according to its website, engages, mobilizes and supports low- to moderate-income “families and individuals in developing and executing strategies for achieving their economic goals. We envision a community in which…working adults successfully improve their economic well-being.”
In addition, the ABHMS Leadership and Mission Building’s Visitor Hub is named in Johnson’s honor.
