Tidings of Comfort and Joy
"But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people." - Luke 2:10 (NIV)
2020 has been an extraordinary year.
We’ve struggled to navigate life in this “new normal” brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic and its consequences: loss of life, job loss and economic despair amidst civil unrest. While we continue to experience great uncertainty, we take refuge and find comfort in our faith in God’s love and even JOY in this season and in giving.
Although we understand that times may be financially challenging, we humbly ask that you consider supporting our Tidings of Comfort and Joy campaign by helping ABHMS reach our goal of $50,000 by December 31st.
Your generous tax-deductible donation of $25 or more will help American Baptist families and children supported by our Community Outreach Ministries network that spans the United States and Puerto Rico.
As childcare and youth programs closed in early March, The Edna Martin Christian Center (EMCC) in Indianapolis, IN began offering virtual daily enrichment via Zoom for children and youth.
“EMCC program families were granted extended access to additional emergency supports including rental and utility assistance. EMCC has distributed more than $2 million in rental assistance to the program families, Martindale Brightwood community residents and those in surrounding neighborhoods. We also distributed 60 tons of non-perishable food and pre-cooked food items to the community .”
Donations may be made via your church or via credit card online. If donating by check, please make check payable to American Baptist Home Mission Societies, write “ABHMS – Comfort & Joy” on the memo line and mail to:
